About The Pro Arte Collection
The Pro Arte Collection is inspired by the colors and textures of historic design and ornament. Tribal textiles, Asian painting, Celtic designs, and medieval European illuminations are only some of the sources which inform and inspire the work. Designs are translated into pigments which are then fired onto brass plates and framed in silver toned (rhodium) or 14k gold plated bronze settings. Award winning Maine artist Ken Kantro created the Pro Arte Collection to express and celebrate the diversity of art and ornament across time and cultures.
About Lovell Designs
Ken Kantro has been an artisan for 35 years. Today, Ken works out of his studio in Portland, Maine creating original designs in sterling, pewter, and gold. He continues to receive numerous commissions from museums and institutions such as the United States Capitol Historical Society, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Winterhur Museum. Ken has won many prestigious awards and has exhibited at the Smithsonian Institution and at museums and galleries throughout the world.
