A bright spear of beauty accented with a tiny ornate sterling silver overlay. The earrings measure 1" long (1 3/4" if measured by the top of the earwire) by 3/4" wide and come on their own earring/gift card with the artist's statement on the back flap.
The French hooks are sterling silver and the tiny ornate sterling silver overlay is a unique design to embellish the earrings. A stroke of 24 karat platinum accents the top and a pair of rubber ear nuts come with each pair for added security on the ear.
These earrings are created using an ancient technique known variously as millefiori, neriage, and nerikome. The extreme detail and intense color results from the use of over 500 different colors of clay to create carefully designed clay loaves. Next, cross-sections are sliced from the loaves, and these sections are shaped and finished into individual pieces, then glazed and fired-three times. 24 karat platinum edging is applied, and the piece receives its final fire.
